An Apple a Day

A couple weekends ago we took a girls day rip out of the city for a serious fall activity.  Apple picking.  The first time I went apple picking was last year in Charlottesville, VA.  I loved it!  Don't think I'd ever picked fruit off a tree before.  So of course I was thrilled when the opportunity came around again this year.

Mandy, 2 other girl friends, and I drove 2 hours north to a place called Applewood Orchards.  It was charming, complete with a tracker ride out to the apple trees.

Naturally,  there was jumping involved.

It was a pretty great day until I left my iphone on the tractor during the ride back.  I didn't discover it until we were about to leave and was in verging on panic.  Thank goodness for my dear friend Mandy.  She rode back out to fields with me to find the nice family that answered my desperate calls.

Lesson learned.  If you're going to forget your phone, make sure to have a calm account manager with you.
