I've determined one of my favorite things to so far in NY is to get on the water. Maybe it comes from living land locked my whole life or maybe just because it's hard to be stressed out with the wind and the rocking waves. Fortunately, another opportunity to leave solid ground presented itself to Mandy and me this week.
Tamara, a producer friend from Dallas, founded a networking group for women in advertising production a couple years ago called FAB. This group of ladies in the industry usually does an event every month, from happy hours to parties at post houses. This month was a yachting trip around the city on Wednesday night.
The boat left from east 23rd and yachted (is that a word?) around downtown and up the Hudson, then back to the east river. They provided food and there was a cash bar. Really can't beat the $25 price, but they certainly fill the boat up. It wasn't so bad once we got out on the water though.
It was so nice to step out of the city for a couple hours. For those of you outside of this recent heat wave, the termometer is pretty much stuck in the upper 80s and 90s in NYC. And with the humidity, I've given up on doing much with my hair - as you'll see below.
Before we left. Check out the Empire State building in the background. The dock was actually only 2 blocks east of my apartment.
Cutie Mandy.
The FAB women.
Yeah, I'm in love with my iphone and the hipstamatic camera.
