Life is Nice in Roma

Day 8 / June 2   ---   Historical Sites

On Saturday, Daddy and I got up kinda early and took the subway to a military parade that was by the Colosseum.  It was crowded with locals.  We got there kinda late, so only saw the tail end, but still very cool to do something the natives did.

We grabbed a quick breakfast on the way back to the apartment.  By quick I mean standing.  In Italy, if you eat standing up at the counter, rather than sitting, your meal costs less.  I could seriously eat a chocolate crossant and cappuccino everyday.  But I'll be good and limit it to days I'm in Roma.

We were due to meet Rich that afternoon for another tour.  The theme was Historical sites.  We knocked out some of the regular greats - Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps.  It was a calm and low key day.  We even stopped for wine and cheese at one point.  Nice call, Rich!

@ the military parade with Daddy.

I want his bike.
New plan - start each morning with a cappuccino and chocolate crossant.
Trey and Mom share these looks often.  I think they communicate telepathically.
Four Rivers in Piazza Navona.
Really not sure what church this was.  Should have taken a photo of the name plate...

What Trey is looking at...
Ahh, one of my favorite buildings.  The Pantheon.  It was closed for the church service this day, so we couldn't go in.   I was still thrilled to wave at her.
The purple was so vibrant over this restaurant entrance.

Stop for wine and cheese.  Yes, please!

I think we visited the Trevi Fountain twice during our stay.  Once at night and once during the day.  Both times were just like this - REALLY crowded.  The night crowd was a little more drunk, though.
The beautiful Trevi Fountain.

Tour in progress.
Back home to the Spanish Steps.
